LAPTOPS
- MISPLACED PRIORITY -Our kids in Private Schools start their computer
studies when in baby class, reasons why i have to pay extra coins to
have my kid school in the best environment. The laptop idea (NOW) in
public schools most of which are in pathetic states is truly a misplaced
priority.
The Government is trying to force the use of laptops
onto kids who barely afford to have 2 meals in a day , kids who walk to
school, kids who study in the cold because the classrooms with leaking
roofs ,no doors ,windows.
53Billions for laptops. Crazy!!. Build permanent labs and fill them with comps, but first supply electricity
Kind note , am not against the idea, in fact it’s the brightest idea
,Kenya has ever had, but hey, wrong timing, wrong target group. Well,
since the digital government want to prove its relevance, let them go
ahead and implement it. However, The Courts should be prepared to handle
laptop theft cases due to insecurity. In the Budget, Rotich did not factor in the cost of repairing broken screens, which will be unimagineable
Child Labor is rampant
in Kenya, let’s all admit it , kids are forced to earn to live , some of
these kids are orphaned, others with parents who are not able , educate
me ,how laptops will help this child if he/she cannot go to school
because of lack of basic needs?
To
fund this gigantic, utopian & lofty budget borrowed more from the
jubilee manifesto, the chancellor of exchequer Henry Rotich will have to
reintroduce the controversial VAT Bill will if successful(obviously it
will due to parliamentary despotism) the price of basic consumer goods
such as milk, bread, maize & wheat flour, sanitary towels and
newspapers will go up by at least 16 %.Gosh meaning to the average
Kenyan lady sanitary towels may soon be a luxury, things like Chapati,
Mandazi et al may soon become a Runda,Karen affair.
The cost of farm
inputs e.g fertilizer, livestock feeds & pesticides will also go up
by the same margin, which could lead to an increase in the prices of
vegetables, fruits, maize and other farm products mmmm....interesting
call it "stealing from one pocket to pay the other pocket"
They lack ideas on how to implement their manifesto and so the only option is to make us fund their ignorant ideas.
So armchair economists, financiers have a lot to say while the whole
budget is just a proposal, yet to be adopted and effected. In any
case, there are only two certainties in life - dying and paying taxes! We
aspire and demand of govt a plethora of goodies, services and freebies -
ladies and gentlemen, they all cost money, and unfortunately it doesn't
grow on trees!
The
reality of life is beginning to dawn on all hustlers in Kenya. I said
it here some few days before elections that this Uhuruto government has
no single Kenyan's best interest at their hearts and I was accused of
being a stounge Raila supporter. Barely three and half months in govt
and we have seen the massive number of noise makers gonna earn a million
plus each per month.
The working class have their salaries reduce do to
increased taxation on salaries and basic commodities have also shot up
prices because even our own home grown products are to be taxed heavily.
Those thinking of taking engineering courses and/or science relate
courses will too have to pay extra cash to get education. still with
your studies you will have to pay to be employed.. that is the face of
Kenya.. all these sufferings are just because some guzzlers are scheming
for extra money to fly in hired jets.. others to fuel thir luxurious
jets bought with Kenya's justice.. [Supreme court].
They steal our
voice/our votes and now they force us fuel their luxuries
To me those are Misplaced Priorities , Thanks to the Digital Government
