Not so long ago, K24 used the old carrot trick with some of the top journalists in the media industry to get them to join its re-branded station; a fat pay-cheque. However, tables are about to be turned as sources now indicate the poached journalist are set to take a major pay cut.
Sources intimate that a harmonized wage bill has been introduced at the media house and anchors who were earning almost a million shillings may take home almost half their salaries under a take it or leave it condition. Rumour has it that this was one of the greatest failures associated with it CEO Granton Samboja, who is said to be quitting the station since he poached anchors from other media houses whose pay is not equal to their productivity.
When the poached team reported to the station, the then employees of K24 who were paid peanuts and even had a go slow due to the “special treatment” given to thee golden team at their expense.
